A Statement from the Fountas & Pinnell Literacy™ Team

FPL Team BLM Response (3)

"It is not enough to be non-racist;
we must be anti-racist."
- Angela Y. Davis

We believe in equity.

→ Every educator and student has the right to live a literate life

We believe in inclusivity.

→ The classroom is where all educators and students have a place and a voice

We believe in justice.

→ Educators and students have the responsibility to advocate for what is morally right and fair

We believe in education.

→ Education is a lifelong journey, and it is up to us to keep listening, learning, and acting

We believe Black Lives Matter.

Teachers have the power
to create change through education.

We stand in solidarity with the Black Community. Stay tuned as we share the diversity and inclusivity efforts Heinemann and the Fountas & Pinnell Literacy™ Team have been working on and are committed to. We have only just begun, and there is much more to do.
